Match what you say to what people search for
Keyword targeting & search intent alignment
Effective on-page SEO starts with understanding what your target audience searches for and why. I research primary and secondary keywords for each page, then align your title tags, H1, headings, and body copy to match the search intent behind those terms. This includes optimising for featured snippet opportunities and ensuring your pages answer the specific questions searchers are asking.

Content that Google and readers both understand
Content structure & readability
Google’s crawlers parse your page the same way a reader does — by scanning headings, paragraphs, and visual hierarchy. I restructure your content with a clear H1–H6 hierarchy, add table of contents where appropriate, break up long paragraphs, and ensure your most important information appears above the fold. The result is content that’s easier to read and easier for Google to understand.

Guide both users and search engines through your site
Internal linking & content silos
Internal linking is one of the most underused on-page SEO tools. I map your site’s internal link structure and build a logical linking strategy that passes authority from strong pages to those you want to rank, creates clear topical clusters, and ensures no important page is orphaned or buried more than two clicks from your homepage.

On-page SEO FAQ
Common questions about on-page optimisation
What is on-page SEO?
On-page SEO refers to all the optimisations made directly on a web page to improve its ranking — including title tags, headings, keyword placement, content quality, internal links, image optimisation, and page URL structure. It’s distinct from technical SEO (site infrastructure) and off-page SEO (backlinks and authority).
How many pages can you optimise at once?
I typically work through a site in batches, prioritising pages with the highest traffic potential or commercial value. For small business sites, I’ll often optimise all key pages in a single project. For larger sites, I’ll focus on the highest-priority pages first and build from there.
How long does on-page SEO take to show results?
On-page changes are typically reflected in Google’s rankings within 2–6 weeks, depending on how frequently Google crawls your site. Pages with existing traffic tend to respond faster than new pages. I track rankings before and after so you can see exactly what’s improved.
Do I need on-page SEO if I already have good content?
Good content is a necessary but not sufficient condition for ranking. Even well-written content can fail to rank if it’s targeting the wrong keywords, has a weak title tag, lacks internal links, or is structured in a way that makes it hard for Google to parse. On-page optimisation closes that gap between good content and ranked content.
Can you do on-page SEO on a site I haven't built with you?
Yes — I work on existing sites across all WordPress setups and can advise on other CMS platforms. I’ll review your current setup, install SEOPress if needed, and work through the on-page optimisation without disrupting your existing design or content.
